Mafia 2

"Mafia 2" is scheduled to hit store shelves next Tuesday, but an Italian-American organization called UNICO National wants to do everything in its power to make sure that doesn't happen.

UNICO put out a press release on August 18 which stated that its immediate past President, Andre' DiMino, had sent a letter Strauss Zelnick, the Chairman of Take-Two Interactive Software, saying that "Mafia 2" featured an "inappropriate and insulting perpetuation of the pervasive and denigrating stereotype of organized crime being the exclusive domain of Italians and Italian Americans." DiMino requested a meeting with Zelnick to "discuss [Take-Two's] insensitivity to Italian Americans and to hear what they will do about it."

No More Heroes Move support

While Suda 51 was at GamesCom announcing his new title "Sine Mora" this week, Konami decided to put out a press release revealing that they've acquired the rights to publish "No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise" in Europe, and they're adding support for the PlayStation Move. Though the game already came out in Japan from Marvelous without any motion control functionality, Konami wants it back for Europe, and we in the U.S. have yet to see "Heroes' Paradise," proper "No More Heroes" clothing or a "No More Heroes 2" limited edition.

Red Dead Redemption bans

Rockstar Games may be capable of benevolent acts such as offering double XP to "Red Dead Redemption" players, but they also have a frontier to secure in order to keep gamers coming back to the game's online multiplayer mode. Thusly, they're bringing down a ban hammer next week on anyone caught storing hacked save files, but if you ditch your cheat-enabling data right now, they'll pass over your when the bans begin.

Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock track list

Activision and the "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock" team paced themselves publicizing the full set list of more than 90 tracks that's slated to appear in the game, but they've put it all out there as of this week, and before you even make it to Soundgarden's full "Telephantasm" album that's coming bundled in the first shipment of units, you'll have a long list of core game tunes to thrash through including The Hives' "Tick Tick Boom" and multiple Megadeth and Rush numbers.

BioShock Infinite

Now that all the excitement has run its course on the announcement of "BioShock Infinite," I wanted to return to a post I wrote on July 13th. Entitled "Irrational Working On 'BioShock 3' In My Dreams," it basically detailed a dream I had wherein I interviewed one of the developers of "BioShock 3" and discovered that it would take place on land (and, um, had some strange connection to the "Fallout" universe, which I'd prefer you ignore).

Killzone 3 multiplayer

With a public beta expected soon and a press demo scheduled at GamesCom, it was a perfect week for Guerrilla Games to break out a new multiplayer trailer for "Killzone 3." Jetpack action appears just long enough to get a taste in your mouth before everything ends, but take a look after the jump and you'll be able to see some scope and un-scoped gun options, as well as a vehicle face-off and a whole lot of blood.

Might and Magic Heroes 6

Ubisoft evidently wants you to look at their classic turn-based fantasy franchise Heroes of Might and Magic in a new way, as they've swapped some words around for "Might and Magic Heroes 6." Black Hole Entertainment has been tasked with the title's development, which includes some beefier 3-D characters, multiple paths through numerous scenarios and squares around your units, as seen in the first set of images that were released.

Diablo 3

I realize "StarCraft 2" has been stealing all of the headlines lately, but you'd do well to recall that Blizzard has another game in development. A little title called "Diablo 3." Ah yes, starting to ring a few bells, is it?

We haven't heard much new information about "Diablo 3" for some time, but Blizzard decided to open their giant, war-forged doors a crack to inform the world about a new feature for the franchise: The caravan. Basically the caravan is your own personal band of merry men and woman. The group follows you around the world of Sanctuary, setting up camp at specific spots to act as a sort of temporary township.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3

The march of "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" characters continues, as two more playable fighters were revealed by Capcom today: Viewtiful Joe and Dormammu, the arch-foe of Doctor Strange.

Viewtiful Joe's presence in "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who watched the last "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" trailer closely. Keen eyes spotted Viewtiful Joe among the mysterious silhouettes of characters flashed on the screen at the end of the trailer. Thankfully it's pretty easy to make out a 3-foot-tall dude with a giant head and tiny body.

Rock Band 3

When "Rock Band 3" brings its keyboards to stores on October 26, it's going to be loaded with songs from rockers around the world, not just the U.S. Most of the newly announced songs from acts like Bob Marley & The Wailers, INXS, Tokio Hotel and Rammstein will be familiar to North American audiences, but MTV Games confirmed the selections at GamesCom this week as part of an 83-song on-disc soundtrack that they hope will attract global attention.
