"Crysis 2" was scheduled to come out for the 2010 holiday season, but EA has tweaked that timeline a bit, and the game has now been transplanted to March 22, 2010. That date only applies for North America, however. Europe will get it two days later on March 25.
Crytek confirmed the dates on their Twitter account today, so abandon all hope if you imagined the date shift might just be a rumor.
It will be in 3-D when it does come out, though, so keep your glasses clean for next spring. This news does unfortunately mean that you'll be unable to buy those deluxe editions with the metallic spine backpacks. If carrying your "Call of Duty: Black Ops" RC-XD around in one of those while wearing your "Modern Warfare 2" nightvision goggles was on your to-do list in 2010, this problem is going to need to be addressed in your monthly planner.
Of course the development does allow you several extra months to upgrade your PC hardware for maximum "Crysis 2" enjoyment, so take solace in that.
