"Call of Duty: Black Ops" Hardened and Prestige editions are no longer just the stuff of rumors and removed BestBuy.com listings. The "Modern Warfare 2" Prestige package set a certain bar for the series last year with its nightvision goggles, but Activision found a new toy to bundle with "Black Ops" in the form of an RC-XD surveillance device.
The radio-controlled vehicle comes equipped with video and audio transmitters, according to the announcement on CallofDuty.com. As Best Buy suspected, the Hardened edition will go for $79.99 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and the Prestige box will cost a hefty $149.99.
If you choose to cap your budget at the $80 mark, you'll still get a SteelBook case, collector's medal, four special co-op maps and an avatar outfit. You won't get the little car and controller with a built-in 2-inch backlit TFT 220 x176 color screen, however. The RC-XD is also an in-game killstreak reward, so you'll still be able to score virtual units while you play. You just won't be able to taunt your neighbor's dog, follow the mailman down the black or do late-night burglar patrols around your yard from the comfort of your couch (if your couch is within 200 feet of your yard, that is).
