Update: The previous version of this post mis-identified "Warhammer: 40,000: Space Marine" as a first-person shooter. It is in fact a third-person shooter.
THQ's new third-person shooter "Warhammer: 40,000: Space Marine" was already announced for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but up until now PC users looked like they might be shut out of the fun. The publisher put those fears to rest today by welcoming Microsoft PC's to its list of platforms for the game, and they couldn't have sounded cheerier in the announcement.
"The loyal PC audience is incredibly important to us here at Relic so we are delighted to be able to announce the PC version of the game," Relic Entertainment general manager Jonathan Dowdeswell said in a press release.
THQ had some planned for Warhammer players with its MMO "Dark Millenium Online," which is in development over at Vigil Games. The shooter crowd will now be served, too, however.
"Delivering great content the fans want to play is the key goal in the core games division at THQ so we are pulling out all of the stops to make this the best possible game for PC and console audiences alike," THQ VP of global brand management Travis Plane said.
That's not just one or two stops, mind you. He said all of them. As long as they use enough stops to make the game run smoothly and fit in lots of crazy armor and units they should be headed in the right direction when it hits in early 2011.
