It would be much easier to downplay rumors about "NBA Jam" going non-exclusive to the Wii if they didn't keep appearing. First, the implication appeared on a software engineer's LinkedIn profile. Then, Germany's software rating organization tagged the game for the Xbox 360. Now, non-exclusivity has scored a rumor hat trick (It's on fire), because the ESRB posted an E for Everyone rating for the game on the 360 and PlayStation 3.
The list has since been taken down from the ESRB's website, but a screencap was saved over at Kotaku showing what it looked like.
The new info can't be considered official, of course, but it's definitely noteworthy that the game has been mistaken this many times for other consoles in public places by professionals. There is a chance that another "NBA Jam" could be in development. Or, the situation could just be that this is another example of "exclusive" getting used as loosely as video game marketing ethics will allow, and a few months down the road someone will tell all of us that "NBA Jam" was only exclusive to the Wii for a couple of months.
At the very least, there have been several communication hiccups now in various locations and it would be nice to see an official statement clearing the air from someone.
Would you like to see "NBA Jam" remain a Wii exclusive? Do you think it's being planned for other systems? Share your opinions in the comment section below.
