Getting licensing approval for new Star Wars games may be a challenging process to go through, but the spigot does not appear to be tightening on iPhone releases. THQ already had a sizable lineup of games in the App Store, but the 30th birthday of "The Empire Strikes Back" is upon us, so they decided to give "Star Wars: Cantina" and "Star Wars: Lightsaber Duel" a new neighbor by launching "Star Wars: The Battle for Hoth."
"Just in time for the 30th anniversary celebration of 'The Empire Strikes Back,' 'Star Wars: The Battle for Hoth' offers an exciting, strategic gaming experience for fans of the original Star Wars series,” THQ Wireless VP Adam Comiskey said in a press release.
The announcement doesn't say anything about whether or not you'll be required to pit two fighters against a Star Destroyer, but it looks like it will be primarily land based, so I wouldn't worry about it. As long as there's a tow cable to be found somewhere, no All Terrain Armored Transport should be too great a task to take down while you defend your shield generators.
