Japan won't be getting "No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle" until October 21, but when they do, their limited edition extras look like they will join the British "No More Heroes" clothing that came out earlier this year in the category of "cool things not sold in the U.S."
The so-called "Hopper's Edition" of "No More Heroes 2" will include the game, a DVD with a new movie written by Suda51 titled "No More Heroes 1.5," a soundtrack on CD, and a fan book, according to Siliconera. Pre-orders will also net an erotica comic, the potential contents of which I find frightening to ponder, given Suda51's penchant for acidic satire and the already absurd nature of the genre the book will be associated with.
Nevertheless, the movie and soundtrack sound like worthy additions that have not yet been announced for U.S. releases, which is a shame for "NMH" fans in this day and age of easy digital distribution.
The big box will reportedly run about 8,980 yen, however. That's approximately USD $101, so yeah, it's not cheap, and if you manage to order it from across the ocean, the shipping will probably squeeze a few more bucks onto your receipt.
