Big retailers, including Microsoft Store, have already priced Kinect at $149.99, despite Microsoft's reluctance to make any official announcements, and games look like they're going to go for just under $60. Walmart will knock about $10 off your receipt and give you a $30 gift card, however, if you pre-order a bundle from their website.
The deal on Walmart.com lasts through July 23, according to IGN. A Walmart representative also emphasized in the report that the $149.99 asking price for Kinect alone is only approximate at this point, pending official word from Microsoft.
Somehow, even with pre-orders for Kinect, games and bundles being posted, the prices aren't finalized. But the ball is in Microsoft's court right now as far as all of that goes. I'm sure retailers would greatly appreciate an announcement about now for their own purposes, but to the average 360 owner wondering how to spend their money for the end of the year, quasi-announced prices through the Microsoft Store just seem to be stirring confusion, making it appear as though Amazon.com and Walmart are more confident in the new motion and voice controller's price tag than the company making it is.
