Ludacris has a history with video games that's included skepticism about video game-based movies, starring in "Max Payne" and starring front and center in 2009's "Gamer." Now, "Def Jam Rapstar" has revealed that he'll be contributing music to its October lineup along with LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest and Big Pun.
Luda's track "Stand Up" will be on the set list in the hip-hop music game, according to a press release. The rest of the list includes LL's "Mama Said Knock You Out," A Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario" Big Pun featuring Joe doing "Still Not A Player," as well as many more. Cool & Dre and DJ Khali are also names that appear in the announcement as producers, providing beats for the game's freestyle mode.
For all of you music-game lovers out there who excel at keeping rhythm with your words both suffer from awkward fingers when you pick up a guitar controller, "Rapstar" may be more to your liking. if you have no flow, however, and it's OK to admit it if you don't, you may want to start practicing your freestyle techniques or stick to a safer game like "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock." For all of you who aren't interested in seeing a good rap battle take place in your living room, however, I say live a little.
What do you think of the tracks revealed thus far for "Def Jam Rapstar"? What other tracks would you like to see added? Share your proposals in the comment section below.
