The makers of "Flower" over at thatgamecompany still won't have their follow-up project ready to sell before the end of 2010, but 2011 looks promising. Currently titled "Journey," the game has a look that places it somewhere between "Shadow of the Colossus" and "Fallout 3," but according to its description the developers at thatgamecompany plan on challenging "traditional gaming conventions" once again.
"Our new PSN title 'Journey' is leaked a bit early," thatgamecompany co-founder and creative director Jenova Chen wrote on Twitter. Images and info showed up in a NeoGaf post yesterday, and his commentary appears to confirm that they're real.
Chen indicated that his team had planned to unveil "Journey" at E3, but they were beaten to the punch.
"They released the material two days before we make the official presentation at E3," he said.
Chen's group will have high expectations to live up to in 2011, assuming the release date on NeoGaf is accurate. Whatever they show off this week will undoubtedly be watched closely by gamers and developers alike. Guillermo Del Toro will likely be interested to see it as well, since he compared "Flower" to "haiku poetry."
