Michael Jackson's video game legacy was secured long before his death. "Moonwalker" put him on the map in arcades and on the Sega Genesis. Nearly a year after The King Pop's passing, however, Ubisoft teased a new Jackson-themed multi-platform title at E3 and released just a few more details about what they have planned.
"We're delighted to have the opportunity to develop a game based on the songs and moves of one of the world's most incredible performers of all time," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in a press release. "We expect the game to bring Michael Jackson fans, families and friends together with the energetic song and dance of The King of Pop."
Ubisoft's press release leaves the game's title to the imagination of its readers, but their images come bearing the name "Michael Jackson: The Game." This is most likely just a place holder, though. With big event announcements like this, it's not uncommon for a final title to still be deep within the murky caverns of licensee-licensor negotiations. Nevertheless, their announcement does anticipate a 2010 holiday release, which means a name can't be too far down the road.
