You may recall that one of my favorite iPhone games of all time (read: the last three years) is "Hook Champ," which blends the swinging gameplay of "Bionic Commando" with racing and character upgrade mechanics to forge a horribly addictive time sink. The guys behind "Hook Champ" have taken a break from releasing level packs in recent months in order to focus their efforts on "Super QuickHook," the spiritual successor to "Hook Champ."
A few months back we spoke to Kepa Auwaue of Rocketcat Games on the progress of "Super QuickHook" (then called "Avalanche Game"). Since then, the team has been focused on getting the game finished and into Apple's hands for certification, a feat they accomplished today. In honor of the submission, a new trailer has been released for the game, showing off some of the new mechanics and SNES-style graphics.
Kepa has said that the game will be released on a Friday...but which Friday is Apple's decision to make. Keep an eye out though. Apart from getting a discount for buying it within the first few days of release, early purchasers will be rewarded with two exclusive in-game hats. And who doesn't like hats?
