Spider-Man 2099 Coming To 'Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions'

Posted 6/3/10 5:34 pm EST by Brian Warmoth in News

Spider-Man 2099

Activision hasn't gone on the record about which Spider-Man variations from the Marvel Universe will appear in "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions" just yet. Spider-Man 2099 looks like a safe bet, though, judging from some new images that just went public. Born out of Marvel's alternate future experiment in their 2099 books, the man under this mask in the comics was not actually Peter Parker, but a young fellow named Miguel O'Hara.

Four screenshots that appeared on All Games Beta appear to show Spidey 2099 hanging out in the 2099 world as it's been seen before on paper. If the scenes shown come from an in-game situation, he'll be duking it out against some golden-armored fellows wielding beat-down sticks resembling that crazy thing Gwildor carried around in the live-action "Masters of the Universe" movie.

The renderings are spot on depicting Miguel's costume. If you were a reader of "Spider-Man 2099" back in the '90s, you'll also notice that they've enhanced the texture of his suit significantly. It now has that standard scaly sort of look that everyone sports in superhero movies these days, which isn't much of a surprise, but it does come close to showing off what a Spider-Man 2099 film might look like if it were made today.

Are you glad that Spider-Man 2099 seems to be included in "Shattered Dimensions"? Who else do you want to see in the game? Share your reactions in the comment section below.
