Even if you have to wait for DLC when "Blur" launches on May 25, you'll still be able to snatch an exclusive chrome BMW Series 1 right away if you buy the new combat racing game at Kmart or Sears. Those may not be retailers that you typically associate with such exclusive content, but you probably didn't know Kmart had its own gaming blog either.
"We are also pleased to announce that in partnership with Activision, Kmart will be receiving exclusive in-game content: the Chrome BMW pictured below," the post at KmartGamer.com reads. "Race in style with one of the strongest cars in the game with your purchase of Blur at Kmart next Tuesday."
The car won't be exclusive in the strictest sense of the word, though — at least not according to Kotaku, who report that the car will be exclusive and found at Kmart, but it will be exclusive to Sears as well. You won't find it among the new games at GameStop, though. That chain will be excluded, as will Amazon.com, unless other exclusive carriers come out of the woodwork between now and May 25.
Whether or not I end up with a chrome Series 1, I am definitely looking forward to the full version of "Blur," as the beta test has been a blast. If you didn't download that, you missed out on a funfilled few weeks.
