Square Enix committed to a release date and voice acting talent today with a hefty announcement about "Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep." The PlayStation Portable title will launch on September 7, 2010, and Mark Hamill, Willa Holland, Jesse McCartney, Leonard Nimoy and James Woods will all contribute their voices, though the big reveal didn't include which characters they'll be portraying. Woods would presumably be voicing Hades, which he's done before, and McCartney is listed on IMDb as portraying Ventus and Roxas, who he's voiced in previous games.
"The entire development team is extremely happy to announce the North American release date for 'Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep,'" the series' director Tetsuya Nomura said in a press release. "We hate to keep fans waiting, but we've added some brand-new features for the North American version, so even those who have been following the Japanese version are sure to find a few surprises. In addition, we've put together an outstanding voice cast."
The features he mentioned in excess of the big-name Hollywood talent helping out include three playable characters, Terra, Ventus and Aqua; four new multiplayer modes, Versus Mode, Arena Mode, Command Board and Rumble Racing; and one extra boss not seen in the "Birth by Sleep" Japanese release. Furthermore, you'll be able to pick it up bundled with a "Mystic Silver" PSP-3000 system and 4GB Memory Stick if you so choose.
Nimoy recently said that he will retire from acting after a 60-year career, too, so this may be one of your last opportunities to catch him in action.
