A Conan O'Brien Xbox Live show may have been part of a larger project rumored to be in the works behind closed doors right now. If the rumblings turn out to be true, Microsoft and their partner former News Corp. President Peter Chernin would set up a new channel of content as an exclusive to XBL subscribers.

If you've never played "Plants vs. Zombies" before, here's a brief rundown: It's a smart, quirky tower defense title that has you installing rows and rows of defensive plants in order to stop aggressive zombies from invading your home. The ridiculous premise is expressed in every facet of the game, from the visuals to the upgrades and even to the action. The game was first released on the PC and Mac, followed by a release on the iPhone. This iPad version, for the most part, is strikingly similar to those first two releases.

Tecmo's remastered edition of "Tecmo Super Bowl" now has a release date set for at least one of its platforms, even if PlayStation 3 owners still have some waiting to do. Microsoft dated "Tecmo Bowl Throwback" for April 28th on Xbox Live Arcade in a new press release, and Tecmo confirmed the news, but they also categorized their PlayStation Network launch date as TBD.
"'Tecmo Bowl Throwback' is out on XBLA April 28th, 2010," Tecmo posted on their official Twitter account. "TBD for PSN."

Tony Hawk didn't think critics gave his last game, "Tony Hawk: Ride," a "fair shake." This time around, presumably on the new game he's working on with Robomodo, he's getting an early start on promotion, perhaps even earlier that the game's marketing team at Activision would be prefer, because last night he tweeted the title "Tony Hawk: Shred" before anyone else could announce it.

Former "Street Fighter 3" brawler Dudley is a fan favorite. In fact, he's so well liked by the series' outspoken faithful, his mug now dons the "Super Street Fighter 4" box art. After taking a good and long look at the boxer for his "SSF4" character guide we've come to understand what all the buzz is about -- and it has nothing to do with his adorable mustache.

Nintendo may have announced the 3DS earlier than they originally planned to, and now it looks like they could ship their next handheld system sooner than everyone expected as well. No official launch date has been stated on the record yet, but some industry people in the know claim to have received a hat-tip that the DS's successor will be in stores by Halloween.

You may be able to receive communications from "FarmVille" through a browser toolbar, but the Zynga game recognized as a source of a addiction by Dr. Phil could be looking at a bundle of new releases for mobile devices. Judging from some recently registered domain names, Android, iPhone, iPad and SMS are all means by which you may be able to stay connected to your virtual farmland.

In case you haven't heard, "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" was officially announced today. It's sorta a big deal.
At a press event last week (the embargo for which lifted today), Capcom held a quick Q&A with the designers of the game, and I couldn't help but ask the question on everyone's mind: Will the character count in "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" be comparable to "Marvel vs. Capcom 2"? (Note: "MvC2" had a whopping 56 playable characters).

The eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland began grounding flights in Northern Europe almost a week ago, but the giant ash cloud it produced has been impacting supply chains across the globe. Sadly for Australians, the video game industry has not survived unscathed. Wii games from Konami may be among the hardest hit, with "Silent Hill: Shattered Memories," "Scene It? Twilight" and several other titles looking at a few question marks where there used be release dates.

I'm gonna be blunt. "Bionic Commando Rearmed," the downloadable remake of the original, was great. "Bionic Commando," the full-retail 3D sequel, was not. Thankfully Capcom realizes a good idea when they see it, and are hard at work on a sequel for the downloadable entry.
Details couldn't be more scarce on this one, save for the fact that Fatshark will be handling the development and, for the first time in a "Bionic Commando" game, you'll be able to jump. The future is here, people. Live it up.
"Bionic Commando Rearmed 2" is scheduled for a 2011 release.
