Don't go clicking around Xbox Live looking for new "BioShock 2" DLC this week, because you won't find it. An Xbox Live Newsbeat report last week anticipated the arrival of an 800-point download called the "Rapture Metro Map Pack." Sadly, either plans have changed or that info was just plain wrong, as some details about the pack have been clarified but its official release date has been pushed into the future.
"And just to update: the content will not be available this week as previously reported," Xbox Live's Major Nelson noted on his blog on MajorNelson.com yesterday. "I'll have more details on timing in the very near future."
In conclusion, the future will be an exciting time for "BioShock 2" multiplayer users, but this week will pretty much resemble last week as far as your opportunities and experiences in the game go. You can look forward to such wonders as six new maps, three new Achievements/Trophies and a "Rebirth Feature," according to Major Nelson, though. Rebirth, he stated, will offer players who obtain rank 50 level back down to 1 in exchange for "a special mask."
What is that mask? I am totally not sure, but it will most certainly be demented and creep out any of your non-"BioShock 2"-playing friends who walk into the room while you're wearing it.
Are you saddened by the news that the new "BioShock 2" DLC won't be available this week? Do you think it will be worth 800 points? Sound off in the comment section below.
