The Mega Man universe has only expanded in recent years, with Capcom issuing new 8-bit-style sequels in "Mega Man 9" and "Mega Man 10." A new trademark in the U.S. makes it look like they either have a brand new Mega Man game in development or they just want to make sure that phrase always gets capitalized as "Mega Man Universe."
Whatever Capcom's plan may be, "Mega Man Universe" is now trademarked, according to Siliconera. The name sounds like we could also expect to see it applied to an anthology-style box release of previous titles, a Capcom-run Mega Man wiki site or, Divine powers willing, a giant real-life Mega Man theme park.
Capcom community manager Seth Killian told Destructoid's Bit Transmission podcast recently that "exciting ideas in the Mega Man space" are in the works. Given Killian's choice of language there, a Mega Man theme park sounds completely reasonable.
If it's a game, I would applaud some sort of joining of the Mega Man and Mega Man X worlds, since that concept can easily be inferred by the title. An 8-bit/16-bit meshing of levels and characters might look pretty excellent.
