"Gear of War" fans' ears perked up last week when Epic Games' design director Cliff Bleszinski tweeted about a new announcement scheduled to take place tonight on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon." Well, that reveal will not take place this week, according to a tweet from the NBC offices. Monday is the new night to clear on your TV viewing calendar.
"To all of my gaming peeps: Due to a scheduling conflict, @therealcliffyb's appearance has been moved to Monday," the show's co-producer Gavin Purcell posted on Twitter. "Same awesome dude, new day!"
As for whether or not "Gears of War 3" will be a part of main event, Bleszinski seemed to hint that he may have something else up his sleeve. An IGN article called "Gears 3" a "likely bet." Bleszinski appreciated the the attention, even if he did everything but shoot it down entirely.
"And that IGN article is WAY off," he posted, elaborating on the circumstances behind the delay. "As much as I'd like to start a fight with @justinbieber the truth of the matter is that we wanted to take a couple more days to polish [w]hat we're showing. Sorry all, appreciate your patience!"
I don't know what role Justin Bieber may have been accused of in all of this, but I'm glad Epic Games and the young teen star are on good terms. After all, how could they not be with that charming smile of his?
