Whether or not Capcom decides to release "Monster Hunter Tri" for the PSP, they do plan on releasing "Monster Hunter Freedom 3" for Sony's handheld platform. The new sequel will be out for the "end of 2010" in Japan and perhaps sometime after that in the U.S., though confirmation on that may have to wait for another announcement.
In identifying a "social phenomenon" called the "Monster Hunter Craze," Capcom said in a press release that "MHF3" will introduce "new elements of communication while enhancing the feel" and gameplay of the "Monster Hunter" series. There will also be new regions, new monsters and an "improved Felyne Comrade System."
In the meantime, if you happen to find yourself in Japan this month, feel free to check out some "Monster Hunter"-themed attractions and merchandise at a "Monster Hunter World" exposition being held at the Greenland theme park in Kumamoto Prefecture. The release doesn't elaborate about what those attractions might be, but Google Translate informs me, based on Greenland's website, that there will be a lot of popular character goods and a monster who appears at "even restaurants in the park."
Anyhow, there's a new PSP "Monster Hunter" game that you can look forward to and a last-minute Spring Break destination suggestion as well. Have fun with both if they suit your lifestyle.
Is a new "Monster Hunter" PSP release good news for you? Do you think you'll check out Greenland? Share your reactions in the comment section below.
