While EA Sports' "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" franchise has been soldiering on despite its title athlete's recent scandal and absence from his sport, Ubisoft's "Shaun White Snowboarding" series appears to be getting some renewed endorsement credibility from last night's halfpipe event at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. White defended his snowboarding title in the competition and emerged with his second gold medal of the year, as well as a new Olympic record attached to his name.

The hugely popular turn-based society-building series, "Civilization," will be seeing another major release sometime in the future, as April's GamePro cover story has revealed that "Civilization 5" is on the way. This is the second "Civilization" game currently in development, as the Facebook-connected web version, "Civilization Network," is in the works as well.

Do you remember, at the height of the "Matrix" craze, a spin-off DVD was released called "The Animatrix." It wasn't a movie; rather, "The Animatrix" served up a collection of nine animated short films, each telling a short story set within the "Matrix" universe from different writers/directors. It was a solid idea with, as you might expect, a bit of an uneven presentation. Some shorts are excellent, some are forgettable and some would have been better left out completely.

The ten fighters rumored to be bolstering the rosters of "Super Street Fighter 4" now includes three recognizable names from "Street Fighter 3." Dudley, Ibuki and Makoto will reportedly appear in the game, which recently saw its release pushed back beyond April 27th along with some other Capcom titles. "SSF4" has been confirmed to include a new Korean combatant named Juri, as well as some faces from "Super Street Fighter Alpha 3," but these three latest fighters come from even further back in the franchise's history.

Sarah Silverman has certain aspirations for a perfect Valentines Day, and apparently those mostly revolve around trash-talking her boyfriend while playing "Modern Warfare 2." Check out the clip above, wherein Sarah extols the brilliance of "Call of Duty," as well as her love of "GoldenEye." Yes, she keeps getting better and better.

The Hong Kong magazine Gamewave kicked up the dust speculation with a "Monster Hunter Tri Portable" release for the PSP listed on its cover this month, but Capcom wants that dust to settle immediately. In an official response, a company spokesperson not only clarified that "Monster Hunter Tri Portable" was a rumor, he also questioned why such a reveal would occur anywhere other than in the pages of Famitsu.

The Pandaren Monk started as an April Fool's joke for "WarCraft 3" and has since grown to become apart of the "WarCraft" canon. The latest appearance of the martial arts-saavy, panda-esque race was as an in-game pet in "World of WarCraft" (pictured on the right). The Pandaren Monk was sold for $10 in Blizzard's online store, with half of the proceeds going directly to the Make-A-Wish charity. The end result? 1.1 million bucks were donated to the charity. That's a lot.

THQ mentioned new sequels for "Saints Row," "Red Faction" and "Darksiders" at a recent earnings call, and it sounds like they'll have more say when E3 rolls around in June. New franchise installments and Wii plans appear on the companies list of topics for the show, but their top man said that they see potential for "De Blob" on multiple platforms.

Back around the launch of "Battlefield 1943," DICE promised that folks who purchased the game would be rewarded with an exclusive weapon in "Battlefield Bad Company 2." Speaking with Patrick Bach, senior producer at DICE, I was able to confirm that the deal is still in effect.
Players that purchase both games and register those games on Veteran.Battlefield.com will unlock access to the WWII M1 Garand. (The site is not yet fully-functional, so don't try it until the game launches.) The weapon is basically the same semi-automatic mid-range rifle carried by the rifleman class in "Battlefield 1943."

The original "Darwinia" had a quiet, critically acclaimed PC-exclusive release in 2005. It was lauded for its innovative ideas, hip look, and solid mechanics. In other words, it delivered. Flash forward to 2010 and the release of "Darwinia+," an Xbox LIVE-exclusive HD upgrade. Does the game still feel as fresh as it once did? The answer shouldn't be a surprise.
