The Adult Swim games site has been on a roll lately. Last week I was charmed by the magic of "Robot Unicorn Attack," and today I'm experiencing the joy that comes from a game called "Cream Wolf."

Sony's research and development teams haven't stopped at building a PS3 motion controller. An unearthed patent shows that the company has also put a great deal of thought into a universal game controller that would interface with the PS3, as well as Microsoft and Nintendo's systems.

"Tecmo Bowl Throwback" may not be an official title yet as far as Tecmo is concerned, but the ESRB definitely knows about it. An anonymous source leaked some details in January about the rumored PSN and XBLA release, and now the ESRB has done the same. Their entry may not be as scandalously written as the "Mature" justification for "Dead or Alive: Paradise," but it does describe the cheerleading attire we should be prepared to see.

The Harmonix name and "Rock Band" titles are inseparable today, whether you're talking about the core franchise or the upcoming "Green Day: Rock Band." Under different circumstances, however, Harmonix and Activision might not be the music gaming competitors they are, and Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick spoke frankly when he stated that "Guitar Hero" could be a very different series had his company initially purchased Harmonix and let them stay on as the series' developers, rather than passing the games on to Neversoft.

Tiger Woods held a press conference today to discuss recent transgressions. He admitted his guilt, saying, "I had affairs, I cheated. What I did was not acceptable, and I am the only person to blame." As the biggest star in golf, his actions obviously impacted more than just the sport itself. EA Sports, which publishes the "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" series of golf video games, will clearly be affected, as well.

Making the transition from supporting character to leading man isn't always the right move, especially if you're an anti-hero. Anti-heroes are always more interesting when they're mysterious, when their motivations are veiled and ambiguous. Boba Fett is cooler when he's in the background, passing out menacing nods. Hannibal Lecter is more exciting and dangerous when you're not watching just walk around. Miles Edgeworth, Phoenix Wright's erstwhile rival in Capcom's "Ace Attorney" series, isn't nearly so villainous as those examples, but the rule still applies: Is the debonair prosecutor a cool enough character to carry his own game?

For a majority of the sci-fi-loving world, the title "Aliens vs. Predator" summons up memories of a pair of sub-par action movies. For gamers of the right age however, the title brings back fond reminiscences of a classic online multiplayer experience featuring a three-way kill-a-thon between Ridley Scott's H.R. Giger-inspired Aliens, John McTiernan's otherworldly Predators and the Colonial Marines who, caught between the warring species, are inevitably ground into a thin, red paste.
Now that classic game is back, and with a shiny, new current-gen skin. Rebellion, the folks behind the 1999 PC game, sat back down with the cross-franchise license to deliver yet another multi-faceted gaming experience. But does the new helping of sci-fi action really measure up to the decade-old legacy?

UPDATE: Ubisoft responded to the "Assassin's Creed 2" DRM report in a on Ars Technica. The Ubisoft rep said, "As long as you do not quit the game, the game will continue to try to reconnect for an unlimited time. Once the game is able to reconnect, you will immediately be returned to your game."
Original Story: Do you have an unreliable Internet connection on your home PC? Like taking your games on the go with your finely tuned gaming laptop? "Assassin's Creed 2" may not be the best choice for your PC gaming library in either of those cases, as the upcoming release reportedly requires a constant online interface for users to avoid being booted out of normal, single-player play like common software thieves.

"Alan Wake" is a strange game. On the one hand you've got a pretty traditional 3rd person shooter, and on the other you have a slow, story-centric adventure game. The game jumps back and forth between the two, even within the first hour of play, mixing slow and fast, story and combat, for a pretty unique blending of genres. Let's take them one by one, shall we?
'Twin Peaks' Revived
The story in "Alan Wake" is simple enough: Famous horror author, Alan Wake, is suffering from writer's block and goes on vacation with his wife in the Pacific Northwest to get away from it all. The wife quickly goes missing, and in the Wake's quest to find her, he starts finding pages from a book he doesn't remember writing. Worse still, the events described in this mystery book start to come true. And not in the hilarious John Candy sorta way.

Just because Disney and Junction Point decided to make "Epic Mickey" exclusive to the Wii doesn't mean they might not change their minds and take it to other systems in the future. A multiplatform approach had been considered before Warren Spector convinced Disney to avoid the 360 and PS3, and as of right now that's still the official plan. After the initial launch, however, anything is possible.
