"God of War 3" may not need any installation space on your PS3 hard drive, but "Final Fantasy XIII" looks like it will be a different story altogether if you decide to install it to your Xbox 360's HDD. 20GB Arcade bundle owners won't even want to consider such a move if they haven't invested in additional storage space, as the game will reportedly take up 18.3GB when all three discs have been read and ejected.
Disc 1 of "FFXIII" will grab 5.9GB, Disc 2 will take another 5.8GB and Disc 3 will top both of them with 6.6GB, according to Ve3tro.com.
Really, no one should be surprised by this revelation since the game was originally developed with the PS3 in mind, and as "God of War 3" demonstrates, those Blu-rays can handle a megaton of data. That 360 owners are getting the game at a presumably comparable level of quality remains something to be thankful for.
I just checked my own 360, however, and I've only got 3.7 free GB left, so installation won't be an option for me at this point. Meanwhile, any of you Elite owners or buyers of the "FFXIII" bundle that includes a fresh 250GB HDD should be in good shape.
