Street Fighter games are no strangers to portable systems. Game Boy got "Street Fighter 2" back in the day, and "Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max" had no qualms about appearing on the PSP. So what are the chances we'll see a "Street Fighter 4" game on the PSP or DS? It's not locked in, but some voices at Capcom would like to see a new portable game happen.
Assistant producer "Nakky" Shiozawa and some of her colleagues at Capcom gave the idea a thumbs up, according to Siliconera, who pulled the news off of Nakky's Japanese blog at Capcom.co.jp. The Q&A there also showcased some "Final Fight" cameos in "Super Street Fighter 4" by Haggar and Andre.
A PSP release seems more likely, given visual standard of the game, but then again, who's to say Capcom couldn't make something work on the DS with a little extra time? Both options would require some sacrifices somewhere along the line. If the interest is there, though, a portable release may eventually happen.
Personally, with the renewed interest in "Marvel vs. Capcom 2" on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network recently, I would be far more keen on a DS cart of that getting priority. Who knows, though? Capcom may get pre-occupied with a "Super Street Fighter 4 Alpha" or something else that's too big to be released as DLC for "SSF4" after it comes out in April.
