Since the "World of Warcraft" pet store opened, Lil’ K.T. and the Pandaren Monk have been a little lonely, but they should be getting some company in the coming weeks from the Wind Rider Cub and Gryphon Hatchling, which Blizzard plans on sending to buyers in the form of plush toys as well.
"Each plush companion will come with a code for a matching in-game, non-combat, account-bound pet to fly by your side in Azeroth," according to a post on the news blog at WorldofWarcraft.com. "Both Horde and Alliance players will be able to adopt either pet once they hatch in the online Blizzard Store."
This is a different approach than Blizzard took to selling their first two pets, one of which forwarded part of its proceeds to the Make-a-Wish Foundation in December. Blizzard's post doesn't say whether or not the new critters' asking prices go higher than their predecessors' $10 mark, but I'd be surprised if they sold the plush toys for anything less.
Nonetheless, if you love having your life outside of "WoW' reflect your quests inside the MMO, this deal will give you another way to show the world who your virtual friends are -- and something to cuddle up with at night.
Did you download either of the first two pets from the Blizzard Store? What do you think of the plushes? Sound off in the comment section below.
