Square Enix has released a new trailer for "Final Fantasy XIII" which features the song "My Hands" by Leona Lewis. The footage offers mostly pre-rendered cutscenes, but about halfway through there's a good chunk of gameplay thrown in for good measure. It's also using the English language voice actors, so it's a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with the voices that'll absorb your life for several dozen hours. You can watch the trailer after the break:

"Army Of Two: The 40th Day" hit the PS3 and PSP simultaneously this week, nearly two years after the original "Army of Two" impressed gamers with its blend of buddy-comedy fun and battlefield co-op action. In both platforms, your two-man team finds itself stuck in Shanghai, China, as another private security force takes over the city, blowing stuff up and generally ruining Salem and Rios' plans for a quick-and-easy contract. However, while the PSP version of the game follows a nearly identical story as its PS3 counterpart, that's where the similarities end.

Seems that "Dead Space 2" and "Crysis 2" aren't the only games EA is locking down for the year 2011. In a forum posting on the "Star Wars: The Old Republic" message board, BioWare staffer Sean Dahlberg stated that while there is no specific date to speak of, the team is targeting a Spring 2011 release. Given that that's more than a year away, I'd say that's pretty specific!

Sega may not be interested in publishing any new M-rated titles for the Wii, but that hasn't swayed the minds at Platinum Games who developed last year's gore-fest "MadWorld." At least one voice in their office definitely wants to push through with a follow-up.

Up until now, we all knew that "Dead Space 2" exists and that jobs have been created to work on it. We could say just a bit less for "Crysis 2." EA has gone on the record now, however, and both games now sit on their release calendar for the coming year, which ambiguously indicates that the titles will ship by March 31, 2011.

Sometimes it can be refreshing to hear someone on the movie side of the entertainment industry admit that licensed games often end up in terrible shape. James Cameron has had numerous opportunities to see the good, the bad and the unplayable emerge from his creations like "Terminator" and "Dark Angel." He says that "Avatar" was a different sort of experience, however, and he would consider taking an original, unused property from his stockpile and developing it directly into a game.

The last few days have offered a rarely-seen glimpse into the development process of Rockstar Games, known for their hugely successful "Grand Theft Auto" franchise. Last week, some of the wives of staff members at Rockstar San Diego, the team responsible for "Midnight Club: Los Angeles," banded together to write a letter about some of the less-than-ideal work conditions experienced at the studio.

Clearly someone over at Activision knows a thing or two about what the kids like, so they've gone and melded the two most popular franchises on the planet right now: "Call of Duty" and "Twilight." Yes, you never thought it would happen, but the day is finally here. Screw "God of War." Screw "Natal." This is the future. Trailer after the break!

Electronic Arts released "Army of Two" in March, 2008, following a delay from holiday '07 to tighten things up. It sort of worked, and the result was a passably entertaining game made better by co-op. Now, EA Montreal is back with a sequel, "Army of Two: The 40th Day," and they've sharpened their focus a bit. Where the last game saw your two-man team of mercs taking on a random helping of warzone jobs for pay, this one confines the action and story to a single, fateful visit to Shanghai, China.

Mark Hamill has been making the rounds in video games lately. First was his brilliant revival of The Joker in "Batman: Arkham Asylum," and just last week he appeared as a bastard of a demon in "Darksiders: Wrath of War." You may think that Luke Skywalker may just be taking video game gigs to pay the bills, but the truth is that he's also quite the gamer himself. Check out the video up top, where Hamill dishes on his first video game experience.
