Mass Effect 2

BioWare not only wants to conclude their current "Mass Effect" trilogy with "Mass Effect 3." They want to do so on a shorter timeline than they followed between finishing "Mass Effect" and "Mass Effect 2." A what's even more clear from a new interview is that they want the third chapter to come out on the Xbox 360.

Clash of the Titans

Louis Leterrier, the director the upcoming remake of "Clash of the Titans," is a pretty hardcore gamer, and, given Namco Bandai's upcoming release of a tie-in video game, we were curious just how involved he was in the game. Apparently not very involved, but it's not due to disinterest.

"I'd love to be involved...they're just far, far away from me. To be frank, I would have said 'Yeah, lets do it!' and then have too much work."

Pokewalker

If you loved taking your Pokémon for walks before, Nintendo has a newly announced gadget on its way to "Pokémon HeartGold" and "Pokémon SoulSilver" boxes in March that may convince you to extend your morning walking commute. The existence of the Pokéwalker hasn't been a well guarded secret in recent months, but the Pokéball-shaped pedometer now has some official details available that explain how it will communicate with the DS and reward off-screen pedestrians.

BioShock 2

UPDATE: Added a note next to each plasmid, indicating which powers appear in single-player, multiplayer or both.

"BioShock 2" takes place ten years after the events of the first game, and in that time it appears that freaky, mutant, underwater scientists have managed to create some nifty new powers. I've spent some time with an early build of the game, and I thought it might make for good preparation to detail some of the new plasmids (along with some of the upgraded classics) you'll find in the heart of Rapture.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Christian Bale wasn't on board for a "Metal Gear Solid" movie as of last June, and now it doesn't look like many other people behind the scenes are either. MTV Movies Blog has further details on the stalled film, which producer Michael De Luca has very little faith in at this point.

Child's Play

The video game industry is often the target of slings and arrows, with fingers pointed and angry voices proclaiming that children are sustaining irreparable harm from its products. If you're one of those angry voices, you probably aren't be reading this blog and are, at least partially, lame.

Thankfully, you are reading this blog and you know that video games aren't pure evil. In fact, they're sometimes the source of substantial good in the world. Case in point: the Child's Play charity, which seeks to raise money so that kids in hospitals can enjoy free video games and maybe make their lives a bit brighter. The guys from Penny Arcade started it back in 2003 and since then have accepted millions in donations from gamers around the world.

NBA Jam Tournament Edition

EA's rumored "NBA Jam" relaunch for the Wii looks like it may be a little closer to becoming reality today, even if it isn't quite official yet. When ESPN.com broke the story earlier this week, they said EA intended to hire the game's creator Mark Turmell. The man behind classics like "Smash TV" and "NFL Blitz" now holds the title of senior creative director at EA Tiburon.

Astro A40

I play games quite a bit and at all hours of the day. I have a moderate HDTV, a well-calibrated surround sound set up with some decent speakers, and a brand new apartment building full of tenants that hate them. Hi new neighbors!

Being the sensible and respectful neighbor that I am (sorry about that thud last night my friend behind the wall, I tripped) I recently picked up Astro Gaming's A40 Audio System to help maintain pleasantries with the other shut-ins in my building. The system, which consists of the A40 Headphones & the small A40 Mixamp, combine to deliver voice chat and 5.1 Dolby Digital sound to players on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. So how is it?
