After several days of speculation, EA has confirmed that they are working on a new version of "NBA Jam" for the Nintendo Wii.
The word comes straight from the crew at EA Sports, with head honcho, Peter Moore, saying: "Diehard fans of the original game have been asking for a remake for more than a decade. We’re very excited to give them their wish this year with the return of this iconic franchise."
The game will apparently stay true to the nature of the franchise (arcade-style, ridiculous dunks), but will improve on the graphics, bringing them up to present-day standards.
Is it just me or did they do a pretty good job remaking "NBA Jam" when they made "NBA Street"? It'll be interesting to see whether EA simplifies "Street" even further (bringing it back down to 2-player teams and removing the super shot meter) to better recreate the feel of the classic arcade game.
Personally I'll be happy so long as Air Dog is in it.
