John Woo may not have space on his calendar right now between the U.S. release of "Red Cliff" and his next project "The Flying Tigers," but he still speaks fondly of his video game experience with "Stranglehold." Asked if he would be returning to games anytime soon, the Chinese-born director sounded hopeful, even if a "Stranglehold 2" doesn't happen in the near future.

Square Enix has taken over publishing duties for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" in Japan, and the game will sport at least one key difference when it launches tomorrow. Unlike the North American edition of "MW2," players will not be able to win while shooting civilians in the now-infamous "No Russian" scene.

At an event in NYC last night, I spoke with DICE's Gordon Van Dyke about the upcoming release of "Battlefield: Bad Company 2." Given the thematic similarities with the recently-released "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," I was curious whether DICE was looking to follow Infinity Ward's lead when it came to preventing people from using party chat on the Xbox 360. Here's what Gordon had to say:

While not news-worthy in the least, Cammie Dunaway does have a star-eyed charm when she talks about Nintendo's new games. Or maybe that's just her marketing voodoo at work?
Whatever the case, "The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks" is out today, and if someone hadn't stolen it from my desk (I know who you are!) I'd have our review of it. Instead I'm going to pick up another copy today and get cracking. Cammie will have to be your second place prize.

Scratch the Smithsonian American Art Museum off of the list of institutions who don't consider gaming to be a legitimate art-form, because they've announced a new exhibit going up next year that aims to cover more than 30 years of gaming history and culture. "The Art of Video Games" is scheduled to open up on March 16, 2012, and close the following September, making Washington, DC a likely pilgrimage for gamers from all over.

Of all the giant robots in the world, Voltron has been one of the most overlooked when it comes to video games. In honor of the classic cartoon series' 25th anniversary, however, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be testing the gaming waters of the iPhone, iPod touch and other mobile devices with a "Voltron: Defender of the Universe" game, simply titled "Voltron."

"UFC 2009 Undisputed" entered the ring as a franchise debut last year from THQ, but it entered the sports gaming market with impressive sales numbers, which undoubtedly secured its follow-up, set to premiere at the Spike Video Game Awards this weekend. "UFC Undisputed 2010" will definitely rearrange a couple of words in its title for next year, but the new trailer promises to open up a peek at the game as well.

We have stormed the beaches of Normandy. We have laid siege to Berlin, took to the skies over the South Pacific, and have blazed across the French back-country. We have felled the Third Reich more times than we could possibly count and watched Tojo surrender to the face of atomic power. Video games have done World War II.
But, since the Nazis are just about the best video game villains ever, it's doubtful we've seen the end of this time period. So, in order to keep things fresh, here are five heretofore-unexplored locations for where to set your next World War II game.

As is the case with almost every patch of "World of WarCraft," patch 3.3 has dropped and caused mass hysteria/enthusiasm throughout Azeroth.
There are a number of class-specific changes in 3.3 (which you can read about in this incredibly robust guide on WoW.com), but the new grouping mechanics are really the star of the show.

Call me crazy, but the updated helmet for the recently-announced "Dead Space 2" looks a heck of a lot like someone who might disapprove of the Autobots in every shape and form (including truck). Yes, everyone's favorite raspy-voiced villain, Megatron, seems to have inspired the hero's helmet, since the two have the exact same shape and style.
Or I'm crazy. Whatever the case, it seems that this month's Game Informer will have the first info on the direct sequel. Fingers crossed for a Soundwave cameo!
