The fate of the next "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon" sequel from Ubisoft has been in a state of uncertainty hit by delays over the last year, with "Ghost Recon Predator" getting announced, but likely pushed back into late 2010 or 2011. Though a new trademark filed by Ubisoft may have everything or nothing at all to do with that project, it has definitely introduced the title "Ghost Recon Future Soldier" into the speculation crossfire.

"Super Street Fighter 4" has already been confirmed to be bringing back a few faces from "Super Street Fighter Alpha 3" among its new fighters. The updated roster, which was previously believed to be expanding its tournament by six characters, now appears to be adding ten, however.

I had seen a small portion of "BioShock 2" at various press events and at E3. I was not impressed. Granted it was only a small sliver, but the impression I got was that the developers at 2K Marin had taken the franchise from 2K Boston and turned it into a ham-fisted, action-packed first person shooter. It was a far cry from the quiet, subtle, thought-provoking experience of the first game and I had basically written off the release as an unnecessary (from an artistic standpoint, at least) cash in.
I was wrong.

Last week I gave my top 5 favorite games of 2009. I'm well aware that 5 was not nearly enough to include every enjoyable game that released in the last 12 months, so I've handed it off to the contributors of MTV Multiplayer to share some of their picks. These are specifically games that didn't make my list, but are still awesome and noteworthy.

Following the completion of "Persona 3 Portable" on the PSP, the game's developers plan to reform their team from "Persona 4," and their project may be a big step up in scope. The role-playing series, which saw its creators split up after finishing "Persona 4," would be ripe for a fifth installment, and "Persona 5" would definitely warrant the reunion.

A fake mom on a TV show once asked her fake son, "If everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you do that, too?" [Note: This has never been said by anyone outside of TV or film.] If I was that fake TV son, I'd apparently say yes, as everyone else in the business of covering video games is sharing their picks of the best games of the year and it makes me feel left out. So here you are, my favorite games of 2009. In very particular order.

A band that started off their mainstream career fighting off allegations of "selling out," Green Day are now at the beginning of a long road of selling their first video game. Like the Beatles, Van Halen, and Aerosmith the boys from Berkeley have to convince gamers that their catalog is worth consuming as an interactive experience.
It's almost a safe bet that the game's track list will be more International Superhits and less Shenanigans but that doesn't mean that some of their deep cuts aren't worthy of being on the disc. Here's tenĀ of the best options:

It's no secret that "Mass Effect 3" will be be the third chapter of a trilogy and that BioWare wants "Mass Effect 2" to be the "Empire Strikes Back" of that trilogy. It now looks like that trilogy may end with a more definitely finale than previously mentioned, however, concluding both the trilogy's story arc and continuity.

In a surprising turn of events, Sega has managed to do with "Aliens vs. Predator" what Valve and EA couldn't with "Left 4 Dead 2" -- overcome a ban and greenlight an unedited release by winning an appeal against the Australian ratings board.

UPDATE: The war between the Demoman and the Soldier has ended, with the latter taking the prize. That prize? Gunboats. These boots midigate the damage of rocket jumping, allowing Soldiers to get that extra boost up without having to take a chunk out of their hit points.
Valve also revealed two new maps, which you can check out here.
Original Story: If you're a fan of "Team Fortress 2," the coming days and weeks will be all milk and honey, as the latest major update, entitled WAR!, will be adding plenty of new doodads with which to eviscerate the enemy team. Since there's been a whole lot of news over the last week, I thought it might be a good idea to give you the rundown of what we've got so far.
