With the holidays upon us, we'll probably be spending a good chunk of the next few weeks playing video games. Here are some snowy video game locales that would make for some ideal Christmas gaming cheer.
Cool, Cool Mountain – "Super Mario 64"
Giant penguins, awesome slip-slides and surprisingly spacious igloos make up one of the best snow levels of the last 20 years. Oh, and that giant snowman at the top of the mountain? Yeah, he's a bastard.
Surface – "GoldenEye 007"
The snowy tundra surrounding a massive satellite dish made for easy sniper pickins, and thanks to a silenced pistol you were basically able to sprint about the map, taking out Ruskies like a true MI6 ninja. Ah, memories.
Dun Morogh – "World of WarCraft"
The starting area for the dwarves and gnomes in "World of WarCraft" is peaceful and crisp, with friendly(-ish) timber wolves and the mighty Iron Forge within walking distance. Easily my favorite starting zone because it's usually home to the most short people.
Hoth – "Super Empire Strikes Back"
Riding tauntauns and killing jawas in the snow. Wait, were they jawas? What were they doing on Hoth? Well, whatever they were, it was a lot of fun to kill them. Plus, nothing's more fun than sleeping in intestines!
Cliffhanger – "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2"
The best snow level of the year had all the snowy staples: Ice picks, snow mobiles and limited visibility!
