Everyone's seen the cast members of Hideo Kojima's next "Metal Gear" game for the PSP, and now the street date for "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" is public information as well. Japan still gets the earliest chance to play on March 18th, and the UK gets it May 28th, but U.S. gamers will get a three-day head start on May 25th.
"'Metal Gear Solid' fans should prepare themselves for the next chapter of Snake’s story,” the Metal Gear series' creator Hideo Kojima said in Konami's announcement. “'Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker' will answer many of the series’ unanswered questions and showcase a different, more collaborative side to tactical espionage."
Chronologically, "Peace Walker" takes place in 1974 after "Metal Gear Solid 3" and following the series' Naked Snake storyline. The script will be provided by Kojima and take Snake down to Central America where Outer Heaven's plans continue to unfold.
The press release also emphasizes new multiplayer mode features, dubbed "CO-operative OPerationS" (CO-OPS), which is one of the oddest acronyms I've ever seen but should introduce some inventive new ways to interact with your friends during gameplay.
What's your earlier opinion of "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker"? Are you planning on picking it up on May 25th? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
