"Borderlands" caught a lot of attention for Gearbox with its launch this month, and a lot of gamers are going to want to know what they churn out next. In addition to "Borderlands" DLC and "Aliens: Colonial Marines," the studio has a few mystery projects lined up for unknown platforms. At least one of those appears to be an Xbox Live Arcade release, though, if their designer's Twitter account is to be believed.

Shigeru Miyamoto has made some pretty incredible video game experiences, many of which will go down as the best video games of all time. But that doesn't mean he hasn't been disappointed with the reaction to some of his games. In a recent interview, I asked the Mario creator if there were any titles which didn't quite have the public support that he would've expected at their release:

The Who's lead singer Roger Daltrey, much like U2 bassist Adam Clayton, seems pretty keen on getting his band in line behind The Beatles to make their own music game. His enthusiasm may have taken over in a recent interview, though, where he implied the existence of "The Who: Rock Band." Though he didn't explicitly say that the game would be a part of the "Rock Band" franchise, he definitely indicated that there is game in the works when asked what he thought about The Beatles' recent release from Harmonix and MTV Games.

The Basics
The "NBA 2K" series has been the strongest best basketball gaming sim on the market for the last 4 years. EA Sports "NBA Live" series has been struggling to keep up with "2K" as critics and fans a like have adorned the series with well-deserved praise. The series has been able to combine innovative game play and controls – the shot stick and Iso-Motion – with an immersing game presentation and graphics – expansive on-line features, create-a-player customization. Plus there's commentary Kevin Harlan, Clark Kellogg and Cheryl Miller!

Jay-Z has his name right there on the box of the special "Renegade Edition" of "DJ Hero." It's a pretty big deal for the hottest MC in the biz to associate himself so closely with a video game, but it turns out it's not just to turn a buck. Says Jay-Z:
"I was really a gamer. Ask any of the guys. 'Madden,' all these types of games, I was really like a problem. It was my thing for a while."

Rumors starting flying around the Internet along with a video indicating "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" might feature a third-person shooting mode. Infinity Ward has stepped up to clear the air about those details, though, and it most definitely will be a part of "MW2" gameplay -- even if it's limited to private matches and playlists.

The stars of "The Boondock Saints" and its new sequel, "All Saints Day," stopped by the MTV newsroom the other day to chat about the film. While waiting for their turn in the interview chair, Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus (the titular Saints) took turns on our "Big Buck Safari" arcade stand-up. Unfortunately neither of them had enough time for finish a full round, but the above shot just about makes up for it. Poor Robert Pattinson stand-up. What did you do to deserve this?

"Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" should be a very satisfying release for Naughty Dog. The sequel reportedly eclipsed the studio's expectations and seems primed to be among the hottest games on holiday wishlists this year. Naughty Dog obviously wants a little more buying incentive out in time to be a factor with holiday shoppers and gift card spenders, however, as they've set an end-of-year deadline for new downloadable content.

The Xbox 360 won't be the only console with streaming Netflix capabilities for much longer, as Sony and Netflix today revealed that the PlayStation 3 will begin providing a similar service as soon as this November. Just a little over a year after the service first came to Xbox Live Gold members, Netflix subscribers will be able to access streaming content from their accounts from PS3's as well.

Rockstar's upcoming detective period piece, "LA Noire," has mostly remained in the shadows in terms of concrete information. A casting call put out by LA Casting seems to have spilled the beans a bit, though, revealing the names of just about every major character that'll appear in the game.
Admittedly not very interesting, given that there's nothing super spoilery about a bunch of names. Perhaps more interesting is the rate that the game's protagonist, Cole Phelps, would receive for his work.
