Rumors starting flying around the Internet along with a video indicating "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" might feature a third-person shooting mode. Infinity Ward has stepped up to clear the air about those details, though, and it most definitely will be a part of "MW2" gameplay -- even if it's limited to private matches and playlists.
"It's not something you can toggle on and off in ANY game," Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling told Joystiq. "This is just another cool way to play the game, you obviously will still have the option to play gametypes normal as well."
Some leaked in-game footage appears to show a multiplayer match being played with a third-person perspective. Destructoid translates the gameplay modes being displayed from German as "Third Person Team Deathmatch" and "Cage Match Third Person."
With "MW2" looking at a couple of short weeks before its November 10th launch, details on those modes can't be far away -- particularly in light of a spoiler warning Bowling tweeted over the weekend.
"Just an FYI, if you're wanting a spoiler free and pure 'Modern Warfare 2' experience, now would be a good time for a media blackout," he posted.
Well, I don't know about you, but I'm ready for spoilers, especially if they shed some light on these new multiplayer modes.
