Rockstar's upcoming detective period piece, "LA Noire," has mostly remained in the shadows in terms of concrete information. A casting call put out by LA Casting seems to have spilled the beans a bit, though, revealing the names of just about every major character that'll appear in the game.
Admittedly not very interesting, given that there's nothing super spoilery about a bunch of names. Perhaps more interesting is the rate that the game's protagonist, Cole Phelps, would receive for his work.
The casting call lists a $781.75 per day rate on all actors (for both mo-cap and voice), which is the standard SAG rate for interactive media. The listing also says that Cole will be working for 3 months from November to January. If you factor in three days for Thanksgiving, two days for Christmas and one for New Years Day you end up with 59 working days, which comes out to $46,123.
This is far from precise, since they may not be recording every day, and there may have to be repeat sessions for missed lines, but it's definitely in the right ballpark.
As a comparison, the voice of Niko in "Grand Theft Auto IV," Michael Hollick, made $100,000 for a 15-month recording stint, far longer than the 3 month "LA Noire" recording schedule.
I've reached out to Rockstar to see if my calculations are off for any reason, but it's still an interesting look at what sort of green someone starring in a triple-A title can expect to make.
