"Kane and Lynch" has been percolating in Hollywood development for quite a while now, but according to producer Adrian Askerieh it's set to begin filming March, and they've tapped perennial action hero and Bruce Willis to appear as Kane. The project has been talked about for nearly as long as gamer's have known who the two title characters were, but nabbing the "Sin City" and "Die Hard" may get things rolling.
"'Kane and Lynch' will start filming in March of 2010," Askarieh told GameDaily. "Bruce Willis will star as Kane, and we're about to start casting Lynch."
Judging from Askarieh's assessment, Willis was an easy get, and if the script turns out to be as good as he claims, he shouldn't have a hard time finding an A-list Lynch to co-star.
"The script has been incredibly well-received around town," the "Hitman" producer said. "After Bruce Willis read it, he called it one of the best action scripts he's ever read, and Bruce is an expert in terms of action scripts because he's read everything over the last 20 years."
Askarieh also sounds rejuvenated to see the film moving forward, which he admits has been a prolonged process.
"Lionsgate is the distributor, Millennium is financing and the movie, after two and a half years of false starts, is finally going into production."
