Left 4 Dead 2

"Left 4 Dead 2" Avatar Awards clues may not have been alone when they were buried in the code for the game's new demo. Message board posters once again appear to have plowed deep into the demo's .txt files and unearthed some unannounced names -- the "Miracle Pack" and "Apocalyptic Pack."

Skwug

Wolverine might've gotten his own movie-game, but my favorite X-Man was always Nightcrawler, and his teleportation power has been sadly unrepresented in gaming---until now. "Skwug" is a platformer built around that glorious violation of Newtonian physics, and it makes you wonder why so few developers have tried the mechanic before.

God of War 3 Ultimate Edition

Today there is one more way to buy "God of War 3" and one more way to gain access to the "God of War 3" demo. On the first note, Sony Computer Entertainment rolled out pre-ordering and details about the "God of War 3" Ultimate Edition, which comes in a sculpted Pandora’s Box replica with a limited-edition art book and some digital content to inform the "God of War" experience.

BioShock 2 - Big Sister

"BioShock 2" has a lot to live up to. It's the eagerly anticipated sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed titles of the past two years and it's those very expectations of fans that run at odds with the title's chances of critical (though maybe not commercial) success. Earlier this month I spoke with Ken McClendon, the lead designer on "BioShock 2," about this very issue. Just how does one go about creating a sequel with fan expectations set to such a high bar -- especially when one considers that it was a well-crafted plot twist that cemented the first title's success in the first place?

Hugh Jackman

Accomplished video game voice actor Nolan North doesn't expect to reprise his role as Nathan Drake in an "Uncharted" feature film adaptation, but that doesn't mean he hasn't considered candidates to take his place. According to North, who played Drake in both "Uncharted" and this month's "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves," Hugh Jackman should be first in line to be Drake in theaters.

Video games bring people together. For example, "Big Buck Safari," which sits in the MTV newsroom, taunting anyone that walks in, challenging them to beat the highest score. Until the other day we hadn't actually had a completed round by a celebrity (with both the Boondock Saints and Tokio Hotel quitting before the final tally). That is until OJ Da Juiceman and Mike Posner, two musicians from different sides of the hip hop world, were in the office for adjacent interviews. Suddenly it was an opportunity to battle for the ages.

Modern Warfare 2

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" community manager Robert Bowling wasn't kidding when he said this week might be a good time for players to look away from the Internet if they want "a spoiler free and pure 'Modern Warfare 2' experience." A leaked video involving what are ostensibly terrorist operations from the game has stirred up plenty of controversy, and voices in Australia, a worldwide leader in game censorship, are on the front lines. [Warning: Potential game spoilers after the jump.]

Epic Mickey

There's no doubt now that "Epic Mickey" will be a Wii-exclusive, but that wasn't originally the case. Gamers and game developers alike know that release dates and calendars for games are rarely set in stone, but not biting off more than you can chew on day one can save face from broken promises down the road. Warren Spector knows a thing or two about development cycles, having worked games like "Deus Ex" and numerous titles in the "Wing Commander" and "Ultima" series. "Epic Mickey" may have the biggest pre-roll-out hype yet for Spector and he credits Disney Interactive Studios for limiting it to one platform to allow him to meet his deadlines.

Bioshock 2 - Brute

Earlier this month I sat down in front of a build of "BioShock 2" in room packed with journalists from the world over. Everyone seemed to be eagerly anticipating the first hands-on experience with the title and I was certainly no exception. But rather than give you all a run through of the hour-long section I played (a section of Rapture called Ryan's Amusements where children are educated of the evils of the outside world) or tell you how the game plays (like "BioShock"), I figured it would be worthwhile to note the differences between the original and this latest outing.
