RAGE!!!! Sorry, I can't help but just shout it every time I hear about this game. It just fills be with a visceral need to bite into a roasted boar's head or punch through a concrete wall.
The new trailer for the game is very pretty...and very "Fallout"-y, but when you consider that "Fallout" is inspired by the whole post-apocalyptic wasteland meme, which has been around for ages, you can't blame "Rage" for not feeling wholly brand spankin' new.
But yeah, taking on giant mutants with a chaingun-equipped dune buggy? Count me in! Here's the trailer:

Lets face it: Gameplay-wise the "The Beatles: Rock Band" isn't a huge departure from, say, "Rock Band 2." Apart from 3-part harmony and some new training modes, you're going to have a similar experience in the actual playing of it. But Harmonix is definitely trying to make this feel like a unique and very "Beatles" experience, so they've redesigned the game's story mode specifically for hardcore fans.

It’s not hard to make a scary game these days. The recipe is pretty simple; a pinch of dark atmosphere, a sprinkle of ghosts here or there, mixed together with something jumping out from behind a corner. A lot of those techniques have been done to death already.
After checking out Deep Silver’s upcoming survival horror game, “Cursed Mountain” for the Wii, there was one aspect of the game that I just couldn’t shake after walking out of the demo. It wasn’t the Himalayan mountain setting, or the ghosts of Monks that prey on anyone that ventures on their sacred ground, or the fact that the game pulls from Tibetan and Buddhist folklore to create something that could have actually happen. No, it wasn’t any of that.

A good example of how to make arcade gameplay grow up a little, "Sol Invasion" is a nifty, if unpolished, hybrid of dog fighting and RTS. Air combat has always been the slowest form of shooter, so it’s not as unnatural a combination as it might seem, and though it isn’t quite a full game, "Sol Invasion" is definitely an interesting, and surprisingly fun, experiment.

We're just about out of the woods. Decent games are finally starting to come out again, and the gloomy, crap-filled days of July are long behind us. There are a lot of games that have either come out already this month or are coming out over the next week or two. Which are going to steal the most of your precious time?

One of the more interesting promotional items I've ever gotten came just moments ago. Yes, it's a straitjacket, fresh from Arkham Asylum.
It came in this box, had had a bunch of creepy playing cards. And, oh yes, reviewable builds for PS3 and 360 (seen at right):

The 14th annual QuakeCon is off and running, and it appears there's going to be quite a bit to keep id Soft-lovers happy over the coming days. Just got in the official list of events and announcements, and it's packed to the gills with enjoyable stuff. Most interesting, though, is the amount of Bethesda stuff. Even though the ink is still fresh on Bethesda's purchase of id, there's still going to be a heavy presence from the publisher.

The above picture is of Crimson Dynamo, the only villain that's been confirmed for the "Iron Man 2" video game. But his inclusion does say a lot about how closely the game follows the events of the movie. In short: Not closely at all.
See, the main baddie in the movie is called Whiplash, and is based on an amalgam of a minor Iron Man villain of the same name and Crimson Dynamo, what with his Russian prison background. So having another dude in the movie called Crimson Dynamo seems a little redundant, no?

"Champions Online" is developed by Cryptic Studios, the guys behind "City of Heroes." It's hard not to see this game as a direct sequel, as it's a super hero MMO with improved graphics and a broader feature-set. But, obviously, the game has the "Champions" IP to work with, allowing the developers to use the characters and environments introduced in the pen and paper RPG.
