Britain took reasonable steps 25 years ago to legislate against the sale of adult media to minors. A procedural blunder found in the wake of the country's admission to the European Union, however, may have just handed a Get Out of Jail Free card to recent offenders while the country gets its paperwork in order. The 1984 Video Recordings Act criminalized the sales of violent and explicit material to children under 18 in the U.K., but during recent efforts to update the law, someone discovered that the Act was never properly enacted.

Whether you've been contemplating a first step onto Xbox Live or the warranty just ran out on your red-ringed 360, a price drop on the Xbox 360 60GB and 120GB Elite systems could be on its way to help you out as soon as next week. The $50 and $100 price-tag slashes, respectively, come just as Sony's new $299.99 PS3 Slim hits stores the first week of September.

"Batman: Arkham Asylum" has over 40 unlockable bios for various characters in the Batman universe. Many of these are relatively obscure villains from the series like Ratcatcher and Humpty Dumpty. In the pic above is Condiment King, whose bio is sadly missing from the game, but should certainly appear in a sequel.

Here's your wishlist of obscure Batman villains who you think should've been behind the evil plot of "Arkham Asylum."

Despite the fact that there are actually a few solid games coming out this week ("Final Fantasy: Dissidia" and "Professor Layton" spring to mind) we decided to focus this week's episode on the game that'll be spinning in most 360s and PS3s starting today: "Batman: Arkham Asylum."

If you read my review of the game, the video may be a little redundant. If you're too lazy to read (even though you're reading this right now), this week's "Game Plan" is kinda a wrap-up of the high points of "Batman," specifically why it's my favorite game of the year so far.

"A Boy and His Blob" is a charming redux of the classic NES game of the same name. It's all hand-drawn and features a button that lets you hug your adorable blob whenever you want. Seriously, that's like the definition of charming.

Less charming is the pre-order bonus that GameStop is dolling out for people who pick up the game. It's basically a stress ball with a face drawn on it.

UPDATE: Screengrabs from Sunday's episode below! Thanks AC!

"True Blood" fans probably know that the main vampire of the show, Bill Compton, owns a Wii. Last night's episode apparently revealed that he's also got an inside man at EA.

In last night's episode, a captive of Bill's, Maxine, was spotted playing "Dead Space Extraction," a game that's not coming out until late September. So either the events of this melo-dramatic blood sucking town are set in the future...or Bill is hardcore enough to nab an EA game a full month before its release.

Can't seem to find a shot of her playing...if anyone has a source, hit @multiplayers up on Twitter!

I'll happily admit that of all of Blizzard's current projects, "Diablo 3" is my most anticipated so far. Having played "WoW" for a year and quit with a fair amount of withdrawl, I have no interest in returning to Azeroth. And, well, I'm too slow (both in the mind and body) for "StarCraft 2." So that just leaves "Diablo 3." Unfortunately for me, and many others, it's "Diablo 3" which will probably see the longest wait.

The most memorable character in "StarCraft" is definitely Kerrigan, the powerful Ghost-turned-Zerg who takes control of the massive alien hive mind. And, predictably, she's making a comeback in "StarCraft 2." But not without a different voice.

The PS3 motion controller, shown at E3 2009 this year in the above sword-fighting demo, hasn't made much of an impact since its debut. Despite the fact that we don't really know how many games will support it, it's not terribly far away from release.

“Kaz” Hirai, Sony Computer Entertainment head honcho, spoke to The Times regarding the controller, and went so far as to nail down when we can expect it:

Last week's BlizzCon 2009 insanity has basically wrapped up, leaving us with three major things to focus on: "StarCraft 2," "Diablo 3" and "World of WarCraft: Cataclysm." Unfortunately, as is par for the course with Blizzard, we won't be seeing any of those titles this year. And, in the case of "Diablo 3," we probably won't be seeing it next year either.

But lets pretend that someone at Blizzard develops magic powers, letting them finish one game in a day. Which of those titles would you want to play tomorrow?
