This is the first time since I've started here at MTV that I get to extol my love for "Knytt," a peculiar indie series which takes cues from "Metroid" and "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night." Unlike those games, though, "Kyntt" sticks to minimalist visuals and score, thus giving the game a creepy, other-worldly sorta feel. The follow-up, "Knytt Stories," was also a gem. Oh, and they're both free, so really not arguments can be made.
Seems that the developer, Nifflas, is already working on the next game. Titled "Project Q," it adopts a slightly more realistic graphical style, but the gameplay appears to remain true to the franchise. IGN has a video of the game running, which is a nice (if brief) taste.
No platforms have been announced for "Project Q" yet, but here's hoping for a Mac or iPhone release! Seems like the sorta game I'd love to travel with.
