Xbox 360 releases this fall will be stuffed with plenty of unlockables and achievements, as well as in-game advertising, thanks to Massive Incorporated. "Guitar 5" and "DJ Hero," as well as "Band Hero" and "Tony Hawk: Ride," are just a few of the titles that the Microsoft-owned company has made deals with to feature logos and products from clients.

"Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars" started out as an exclusive title for the DS and just keeps getting less and less exclusive as the months roll on. After announcing the game's release for the PSP in June, Rockstar has revealed that they'll be taking it to the iPhone and iPod Touch as well.
"'Chinatown Wars' is a perfect match for the iPhone and iPod touch," Rockstar president Sam Houser said in the announcement, according to 1UP. "We are very excited to bring this incredibly ambitious version of Liberty City, with this level of detail and immersive gameplay on Apple's new gaming platforms."

Disney rocked the entertainment industry this morning with the announcement that it now owns Marvel Entertainment, along with all of the company's 5,000 characters. With sequel-worthy games like "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" already floating around and realized sequels like "Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2" on their way out soon, Disney had a lot of relationships to look at across the video game industry, and according to an announcement to Disney investors this morning, all of those projects will be up for review when current Marvel agreements expire.

You probably have a mental list in your head of what games you have to buy this holiday season. And that list probably makes you want to cry. After all, games are expensive. Best Buy has a new deal which should help cushion the blow to your wallet, though.

ORIGINAL STORY: The other day I got a look at "Rock Band Network," the new initiative which will allow folks to upload their own songs into "Rock Band." I was curious what Harmonix thought of the song creation tools in "Guitar Hero," but apparently they're of the mind that the two products offer widely different features. Harmonix views GH Studio as more of a composition tool, since it doesn't allow you to upload music directly, instead forcing you to use in-game assets.

Over the weekend some screens were released to fan sites from the next "GTA" DLC pack, "Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony." The one above shows off a new helicopter, which appears to be loaded up with rockets and machine guns. It also looks a lot smaller and lighter than the Black Hawk-inspired "GTA 4" attack chopper. Which means carnage is a go!
I was wondering what features you've enjoyed in past "GTA" games that you'd like to see in "Gay Tony."

Wondering how "The Beatles: Rock Band" came to be? It's not as if Apple Core was just ready and willing to dole out their classic songs to the highest bidder (though it helps). No, it took a bit of a stroke of luck to pull this one off.
I spoke to Josh Randall, the creative director for Harmonix and "The Beatles: Rock Band," who described a pretty interesting tale of how the game came to be. As with many of the biggest deals in the entertainment industry, it all started at a cocktail party...

Illegal and abusive sex acts in Japanese games -- namely those featured in the U.S.-banned PC game "RapeLay" -- earned extra media attention for the Japanese sex-game genre this year. Now, the United Nations has stepped in and issued a formal recommendation, urging Japan to crack down on rape and sexual violence in games.

Russ already found out how to play "DJ Hero," but now the inner workings of the game's controller are publicly available on the World Wide Web, thanks to the Federal Communications Commission. A smattering of files including radiation tests, a user manual and -- to the joy of provocative computer-chip photo lovers -- pictures of the turntable's insides have all been compiled and posted.

"Super Elite" Xbox 360 bundles appear to be waiting in the rafters with 250GB hard drives right now. Just as Microsoft confirmed that its 120GB Elite and 60GB Pro packages would be slashing their price tags this weekend, Amazon's German site and local distributors in South Africa reportedly leaked details about the Elite's successor.
