After an accidental launch on the iPhone's Japanese App Store yesterday, it seems that "Resident Evil 4" will be making it, in some form, to Apple's handset. The game was quickly pulled off of the App Store, but eagle-eyed RSS watchers managed to download and capture what they could, while they could.

It appears the game will not be an on-rails shooter, like the recently release DOOM: Ressurection. Instead you've got full control of Leon Kennedy as he battles Spanish zombies in a gloomy farmland. A leaked video of the gameplay shows a simplified-but-faithful representation of the classic survival horror title, with action taking the forefront instead of inventory management.

I've put a word in with Capcom to see if we can get an official confirmation, so stay tuned!

The news that "Heavy Rain" would be coming out in 2010 isn't all that new, but it did get me thinking recently about what exclusives we have to look forward to on the PS3 this holiday season. While huge, exciting titles like "God of War 3" "MAG" and "The Agent" are in the works, none of them will be arriving until next year...and now that "Heavy Rain" is 2010 as well, what are well left with?

Thankfully an excellent game in the form of "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves," but is one blockbuster enough to get by? Today's poll asking what PS3 exclusive you guys are most excited about this holiday was more a test to see if anyone had a pick other than "Uncharted 2." And someone did!

UPDATE: The "Prestige Edition" of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" will set you back $149, according to Infinity Ward. Hey, I was pretty close!

Original Story: Screw cloth maps and vinyl figurines. Activision has managed to trump even the most ridiculous special edition pack-ins with the newly announced "Prestige Edition" for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." Yes, those are real, honest-to-goodness, working, night vision goggles.

Like "Fallout 3," it seems there will be several tiers of "Special Editions" for "Modern Warfare 2." The normal edition will run you $60, while the "Hardened Edition" is $80 and comes with DVDs and art books and a code to download the original "Call of Duty" on XBLA and PSN. The "Prestige Edition," which runs a mysterious dollar amount that Acitivison hasn't shared yet, comes with all of the above, as well as the goggles.

...it would sound a lot like "Da Chip," a remix album of classic Daft Punk songs using 8-bit era sound effects. Created by a fellow that goes by the name Je Deviens DJ En 3 Jours, "Da Chip" is an interesting new take on music you're probably very familiar with.

This isn't the first time chiptunes have made their way into the music scene. Beck released an EP of all-chiptunes music, for example.

Ever since I heard that Sony was planning on launching "Heavy Rain" alongside the likes of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," "Splinter Cell: Conviction" and "Guitar Hero 5" I knew something needed to give. Sony learned a very important lesson last year, when "LittleBigPlanet" failed to reach sales expectations: Don't put your new franchises up against dozens of already-popular ones. "Heavy Rain" would undoubtedly be drowned in the crush of the holiday gaming season.

And thankfully someone's come to that very same realization, as the game has been pushed to 2010. I know it's disappointing that you won't be playing this unique, non-linear adventure game this year, but consider something: What was the last unique non-linear adventure game that game out in the peak holiday months and actually succeeded?

Wondering who will be appearing in "Batman: Arkham Asylum"? Apparently Warner Bros. and Eidos know exactly what you're thinking, as they've gone and released a trailer which brings all of the villains in the game together in one place.

Wait a minute, that's not everyone! There's at least one notable Batman villain who is definitely in the game, but is most definitely not represented here. Embargoes prevent me from saying who, but you can be rest assured that this trailer only scrapes the surface of who you'll be facing. And no, I'm not talking about Mr. Myxlplyx.

Over the weekend fans of MMA saw an intense battle between Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping which left Bisping out cold on the mat in the second round.

It wasn't the only blood shed this weekend, though, as it seems UFC and EA Sports aren't going to be best friends anytime soon. Dana White, the head of UFC, stated that he's "at war" with EA and that anyone siding with the game publisher may find themselves in a bad way with UFC.

Speaking with MMAJunkie.com, White was very clear about his thoughts towards EA:

Today's LTP is near and dear to my heart, 'cause I very nearly shattered by 360 controller this weekend when "Battlefield 1943" crapped out on me for the 7th time. And yet I kept playing. Oh, the irony. Anyway, here are some of your most recent controller-breaking moments:

TheRotArm @multiplayers Playing Dash of Destruction. Easy 200 gamerpoints my arse.

SeanBeanland @multiplayers The weird floaty physics in LIttleBigPlanet made me throw my controller after dying in one story level over and over.

jrafacz @multiplayers Last week...COD4 MP match against co-workers...my lop-sided keyboard slipped...couldn't dodge an opponent...got killed...argh

tylerstyle @multiplayers Easy. Shadow of the Colossus. I held onto a Giant so fierce, that my R1 Button broke. I just didn't want to let go.

cbranger @multiplayers when playing call of duty: world at war I broke three sixaxis contollers. One "unfixable" two sold to Gamecrazy... Hah

Getting solid numbers on how many people are playing a given downloadable game based on platform can be tricky. Sure, you can look at the number of people on the leaderboards, but that doesn't count the innumerable people that play offline.

Thankfully EA's novel promotion for "Battlefield 1943," which will unlock the Coral Sea map on a given platform once that platform hits 43 million global kills in the game, is giving us some interesting new insight.

Right now the global kill count sits at 29.5 million kills on the 360 and 16.1 million kills on the PS3, meaning there are nearly double the number of 360 players as there are PS3 players. That's making the assumption that 360 players aren't just a lot better at the game.

At this rate we could very easily see the new map unlocking on the 360 in the next couple days, whereas the PS3 shouldn't be much farther behind. Hopefully by then all of the server woes (which persisted through the weekend) will be worked out.

In Edge Magazine's cover story on "No More Heroes 2," the game's lead designer, Goichi Suda, is pretty straight-forward about where he thinks the future of the franchise resides.

"I think ['No More Heroes 2'] is the last 'NMH' that is going to be developed on the Wii. To expand 'NMH' to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we've done everything we can with it now."

While this is certainly a bummer for Nintendo fans, consider what he's saying. Planned for release in 2010, "No More Heroes 2" will release on the Wii. So by the time another "NMH" installment rolls around we may very well see another Nintendo platform in the works. WiiHD, perhaps? Seems that Suda isn't ruling out the potential for "NMH" to be on a Nintendo platform, just this Nintendo platform.
