"Wii Sports Resort" is currently tearing up the MTV newsroom, with the 3-point challenge in basketball being the go-to option (22 is the current high score, but it's sure to be beat sometime this week). Anyway, despite the handful of new sports the game adds, seems like there's gotta be a few more that could be in there. Like where's the official fishing game? You guys had some thoughts on what they should've been included, as well:

Another Bill Trinen post for you guys, this time talking about the challenges of being the translator for one of the most important people in the video games industry: Mario-creator Shigeru Miyamoto. Trinen has been Miyamoto's translator for several years, and it always impressed me how much he was able to not only translate, but recall, all without the help of a notebook.

He talks about this challenge and about the times when him and Miyamoto-san aren't quite on the same page, in the video below:

Bill Trinen, the Product Marketing Manager of Nintendo of America, was on-hand at the "Wii Sports Resort" launch last week, talking about the game, when he mentioned there's a lot more than just the basic modes to enjoy. He references the table tennis challenge, shown off at E3, which is a much faster version of the standard table tennis. But there's more! Trinen mentions a secret frisbee mode, among others. Check out the video below and see if you can crack the code:

We've seen the single-player demo, but the single-player isn't why you spent 120 hours playing "Call of Duty 4." So here you go, the first footage of multiplayer in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2":

Just a few months ago, Keith Lee was the Lead Producer on "Diablo 3." Before that he was Lead Programmer at Insomniac Games, in charge of the "Ratchet & Clank" series. His new company, called Booyah, is much smaller than either of those development houses, but it's allowed him to delve into a space he's always been curious about: Real-life achievements. You know that feeling you get when you unlock a particuarly difficult achievement in, say, "Halo 3"? Keith wants you to get the same feeling of accomplishment from, say, climbing a mountain or seeing an exclusive movie screening. And thus "Booyah Society" was born.

A disappointing loss for the holiday season: "Splinter Cell: Conviction," Ubisoft's 360-exclusive revival of the "Splinter Cell" franchise, has been officially delayed to 2010. Also delayed to that time period is "Red Steel 2," the sword-fighting, gun-slinging sequel to the Wii launch title.

I just got off the phone with an Ubisoft rep who confirmed that both titles have been delayed to Ubisoft's fiscal Q4, which begins in January and ends in March of next year. Here's the reason they're giving for the delay: "We strongly feel that the extra time will make it possible to present fans with a level of polish that will live up to our ambitions and their expectations." In short, it ain't ready yet.

No word yet on any other delays, but I'll keep you posted.

Yet another movie-based-on-a-game is well into development, as "Dead Space: The Movie" has a director attached. Why it's D.J. Caruso, who you may know from his work directing the so-so action/thriller, "Eagle Eye."

Unfortunately there are a lot of issues with "Dead Space" becoming a movie. For example, the main character never talks, and you only see his face for like a second. I guess that means they're not limited in casting!

Definitely makes me wonder whether all the anti-scientology stuff from the game will make it into the film. Somehow I doubt it.

I was wondering what you guys think they need to do to make this a half-way decent flick. And you came through, as always:

In today's "Stuff That Came" installment, we have a statue in celebration of this week's release of "King of Fighters XII" on the 360 and PS3. The statue comes in at, oh, about a pen-and-a-half (pen in question is in the shot for purposes of scale), and is a miniature ode to Terry Bogard, long-time "Fatal Fury" and "King of Fighters" mainstay. Pics after the break:

Today is National Tequila Day, in case you didn't know. On this day people of age take part in, well, getting hammered off tequila. But if you're not a fan of drinking or are too young to drink, don't let that stop you. Video games have offered numerous opportunities to get digitally smashed. Here are three of my favorites:

Leisure Suit Larry: Land of the Lounge Lizards

The classic game of sin, there are a lot of ways to mess yourself up in Leisure Suit Larry. Something you can do almost instantly is walk into Lefty's Bar and order a drink. And another. And another. Eventually you will stagger out of the bar and get killed a back alley! See, drinking is a blast!

Fallout 3

"Fallout" may be the only series that tries to replicate the consequences of alcoholism. Drinking booze in the "Fallout" universe may dull some of your pain, but you'll pay for it in the end with a hefty stat decrease. In "Fallout 3" the screen will actually blur and tip when you've had a few too many.

Grand Theft Auto 4

"GTA 4" was arguably the most realistic portrayal of getting hammered in real life. If you've ever gotten to the point where you're tripping over a six-inch curb and yelling at cabs like they owe you money, you'll probably feel right at home with the "date" minigames in "GTA 4." The game also portrays drunk driving, which is possible but comes with the consequences of instant cop attention and a distinct inability to stay on the road. So, for god sake people, take a taxi.

I know there have been a ton of drunken moments games over the years. What are your favorites?
