Gamasutra is reporting off the NPD numbers that were just released, and they've narrowed down which games have sold the best in the first six months of 2009. Keep in mind that games released earlier in the year would have an advantage here, as they've had more time to brew.
On the PS3 it's pretty predictable:
1. "Killzone 2"
2. "Resident Evil 5"
3. "Street Fighter 4"
4. "UFC 2009 Undisputed" (wow!)
5. "MLB 09: The Show"
On Xbox 360 it's a bit more interesting:
1. "Resident Evil 5"
2. "UFC 2009 Undisputed" (double wow!)
3. "Call of Duty: World at War"
4. "Halo Wars"
5. "Street Fighter 4"
And on the Wii, well, it's a bunch of games you probably aren't playing:
1. "Wii Fit"
2. "Wii Play"
3. "Mario Kart Wii" (except for this)
4. "EA Sports Active"
5. "LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Bundle" (maybe this too)
I gotta say, "UFC" is a pretty major shock to me. I know it did really well its first month, but the second-best selling game on the 360? Pretty incredbile. I guess THQ isn't too worried about potentially losing their WWE license anymore!
