Although we've long known the hero of "Assassin's Creed II" would be a dude named Ezio, we haven't really gotten a glimpse about his backstory. Thankfully the first in a series of developer diaries from Ubisoft clears up a whole lot about where Ezio is coming from and why he goes on the warpath.
I can't remember the last time I saw a "Historian" in a video game trailer, but now's as good a time as any. In fact, I can see one of those History Channel specials delving into the historical accuracy of Ezio on his little rampage. "AC1" spent a lot of time getting the history down, as all of the assassination targets in the game were real people who vanished around that time. Curious to see if "AC2" pulls off the same feat.
