"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" shredded its way to the top of the box office charts in its initial weekend, with an estimated domestic haul of more than $87 million. But, will the strong opening of the Wolverine movie mean success for its game tie-in?

Whether it's been as a playable character in various X-Men games or one of many heroes available in the "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" series, Wolverine's mostly been part of an ensemble cast in his video game appearances.
Iron Man's video game resume looked very similar up until last year, when the movie and game introduced many to Marvel's technological superhero. Despite mostly negative reviews, SEGA's "Iron Man" game sold very well, slotting at #7 overall in the May 2008 NPD sales charts. Currently, Metacritic rates "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" at 74, much better than the scores Tony Stark earned last year with the Secret Level-developed release.
Will the combination of more favorable reviews and a similarly strong box office debut allow the adamantium-clawed mutant to surpass the armor-clad CEO?
