During a news conference in Tokyo, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed that "Wii Sports Resort" will be available in Japan in June. Iwata was discussing how to revitalize Wii sales in Japan.
ABS-CBN News reported that industry figures show Wii sales went down almost two-thirds from last year and that the PS3 outsold Nintendo's console for the first time in 16 months.
However, Iwata maintained that a price drop would not be the solution: "A price cut in a difficult economy cannot really excite the market and drive up sales. As of now I really don't think that a price cut is a good option for us."
Kotaku cites KBC analyst Hiroshi Kamide as saying the game will be available "overseas" in July.
