Yes, its a standard USB charging port. Works on everything, and its a good move. Instead of hauling your power cord around, you can plug it into any computer, USB car charger, or a new phone charger.

Maybe the DSi uses a USB-connector? I think I read somewhere that new cellphones would be using a USB-connector for charging them. Maybe Nintendo jumped on the bandwagon.
