The matte finish looks great and the DSi does appear to have both a brighter screen and wider viewing angle. I wonder what kind of lcd panel technology they're using (TN, S-PVA, M-PVA, S-IPS, other?). Haven't jumped on the DS bandwagon yet since I don't travel enough to justify it, but if I did I would seriously consider a DSi.

My Lite hinge cracked just recently—suspiciously, a week after the DSi was announced for the West—so I have mine preordered. I was able to get my hands on one for a brief period of time today, though, and I'm really impressed. You actually do notice the screens being a little bigger, and the sound is loud and clear. The color-modifying camera filters are surprisingly sophisticated, especially because it does it on the fly, and it has a blog-like feel with a calendar tied to your photo library. And just like my cell phone, almost all of my DSi pictures will probably be of my dogs.

I just got a DS Lite a couple of months ago, so I don't see myself upgrading to a DSi anytime soon... if at all. I must say I like the finish though.

I really like the matte finish. It makes it look more professional (like it's a PDA or something). Until now, I hadn't really been able to tell the screen size difference, but after showing it, I actually was surprised by how much it was because I thought it would be an even smaller margin. I suppose I should save up for one of these now that I lost my DS in travel.
