I was never good at real "Dance Dance Revolution" (eye-feet coordination = FAIL), but when I heard it was on the iPhone, I thought, "OK, I can handle a touch-screen rhythm game, right?" Wrong.
Maybe it was traveling on the subway during the hectic morning commute. Maybe the loud J-pop in my ears doesn't work before 10am. Or maybe I'm just incapable of hitting arrows flying rapidly across a small screen. After a few tries (in Standard mode), I was finally able to clear a song.
Ultimately, "DDR Revolution S" is another tap-tap-tap rhythm game similar to other apps (I made it through "Tap Tap Revenge" and "Guitar Rock Tour" okay) -- but more frantic and backed by piercing pop music.
"DDR Revolution S" / Rhythm / iPhone / Out now / Konami / $6.99 (There's also a free version called "DDR Revolution S Lite.")
